stuff and more stuff

Twin Falls is a far way away. Da and I made the trip up in two days. Books on tape make the drive bearable. The weather was icky around Salt Lake City, though. Snowy and rainy. But it was moving along. We got to see some of Utah between the clouds, and it is beautiful. We drove into Twin Falls in the daylight. It was cold. We took Ta out to dinner and found a motel to stay in. The next day after work, Ta showed us around Twin, as they call it. The Shoshone Falls are spectacular even in winter. It was so cold my camera wouldn't work. The batteries were too cold or dead. Probably both.

We packed up most of Ta's stuff and went back to the motel. Then it started to snow! Pretty. On and off all night. By morning there was about an inch or so. We were in no hurry to get on the road with that, so we let the sun come out and melt the stuff a bit. We finished loading up both cars with stuff.

Finally, we left. I found out that my car does not like snow and ice. It has never been so dirty either. Intermittent snow and rain and slush from the road. Yuck. The radar sensor got covered up with slush that froze solid so no cruise control. I didn't want to bother getting out the manual to figure out how to work it without the radar, I know it does somehow. Then the parking assist sensors balked at the snow covering. I had to turn it off or endure the beeping. We made good time, though. Only a short stretch, maybe five miles, was icy. Ladybug had told me how to tell. When the truck tires aren't spraying water and it still looks wet you have ice. We had to call Ta and remind her to slow down. We made it to St. George, Utah and stayed at the same motel we had stayed in going north.

Well, we got Ta home and all her stuff. I could not wait to get the car unloaded of stuff and washed. The garage is full of stuff. We have too much stuff, the two of us. Da has stuff, too. I am not good at getting rid of stuff. I am good at cramming a lot of stuff in a little bit of room, though, so that is what I will be doing for a while. Thankfully, Ta will be taking some of her stuff with her for her short stint in Nevada. She leaves when I do, on Tuesday. She will take me to the airport and continue on.

I am going to the airport because in two days I'll fly up to Seattle to get En and all her stuff. Yep, she has had enough of Seattle. She is coming to sunny southern California. But where to put all her stuff? I don't know. While I'm in Seattle with En getting her stuff, we will have the carpets in the house and garage cleaned. That is, if I can clear enough stuff off them to make it worth while before I leave. And if I can get Dauber to move the car in and out of the garage. Da doesn't want to try.

When I get back I will finish a January birthday present. It is nearly done. I promise pictures when it is. Then I will start another series of quilt classes, the northern star pattern this time. Then I will clean up and defrag my hard drive and finally install the latest expansion pack to my favorite game, the Sims 2. It is sitting on my desk already, waiting and beakoning me and teasing me, but other things take priority. I am enjoying reading the guide book and getting dizzy with anticipation, though.

I keep myself busy.
